MW4 Create-a-Class Guide: Every Operator, Weapon, Perk, Equipment Unlock, and Killstreak

October 22, 2026

A complete MW4 launch loadout reference covering all 33 Operators, weapon unlock levels, Apex Attachments, equipment, Field Upgrades, perks, and Killstreaks.

Modern Warfare 4 gives every Multiplayer loadout its own Operator, weapon package, equipment, three perks, Field Upgrade, and attached Killstreak selection. That sounds familiar until the new systems begin interacting: shared attachments reduce later weapon grinds, Apex Attachments can transform a gun without consuming a normal slot, and objective play contributes toward streak progress.

This is the full CODMETAHUB launch reference—organized around decisions instead of reproducing a catalogue.

All 33 Operators and how to unlock them

Immediately available: Min-Hee, CTSFO, Mil-Sim KSK Arctic, UCTF, and Army SF Airborne. A Digital Standard or Vault Edition preorder adds Hunter Killer.

Vault Edition: Ghost, Blix, Valeria, Price, SAS, South Korean SF, COM FST, and KSK Amphibious.

Campaign rewards: Cho for completing “Mayhem,” Dallas for “Hired Gun,” Luca for “Traffic,” Oh-Ji for “Assassins,” Kal for “Defection,” Dunn for “Counter Attack,” West for “Losing Ground,” and Park for “Decapitation.”

DMZ progression: Reece at DMZ Level 4, Coffey at Level 9, Simone at Level 15, and Hector at Level 19.

Multiplayer challenges: Blackwell requires three Operator kills without dying ten times; Jae requires 50 hipfire kills; Velikan needs 15 Double Kills or better; Valen needs 20 Longshots; and Zimo needs 50 Headshots. Kyle belongs to the Call of Duty Endowment Valor Pack, while Ju Kwon's route remains classified.

Operators are cosmetic in ordinary Multiplayer, so assigning one per class is mainly a presentation choice. In DMZ, however, individual Active Duty Operators carry persistent Traits, gear, MIA status, and Prestige Traits.

Weapon unlock roadmap from Level 4 to 55

Create-a-Class unlocks at Level 4. Before that, Default Loadouts let you play without delaying progression. The 24 Primaries, eight Secondaries, and one melee weapon enter the normal track as follows:

  • Assault Rifles: Han 86 (4), M4 (14), Hyeon Burst (21), Patriot XMR (27), Kastov 762 (34), Oden (39), Axion (52), Cronen Squall (55).
  • SMGs: ISO Nightshade (4), VEL 46 (5), Wz.55 Striga (18), PPSh-41 (30), X-58 Nyx (46).
  • Shotguns: Rezi 12 (4), Warlord (32).
  • LMGs: FiNN LMG (4), Type 73 (9), APOC-338 (44).
  • Marksman Rifles: MAR-9 (4), Oris 8.6 (11), Mosin-Nagant (36).
  • Sniper Rifles: KG-7 Vulcan (4), Astaroth .57 (25), Signal 50 (50).
  • Pistols: Sang 9mm, Krait P68, .50 GS, and Mojave .357 form the four sidearm choices.
  • Launchers: PILA (4), RPG-8 (23), JOKR (43), PM-40 Anvil (54).
  • Melee: FSS Carbon Edge 1095 (4).

A Primary normally uses weapon-specific and shared attachments. Once a shared part is earned, every compatible gun can equip it. A fully leveled supported weapon unlocks its Apex Attachment, equipped separately without using a standard attachment slot, although an Apex can block normal categories when its conversion replaces those components. Weapon Prestige then offers exclusive camo progression in exchange for resetting the weapon to zero and relocking its attachments on that gun.

Gunsmith, Gunny, and the Firing Range

Gunsmith controls attachments, appearance, and progression. Gunny is the Attachment Optimizer: choose the behavior you want and use its suggestions as a starting point, then verify the result rather than trusting a green-stat summary. Multiplayer's range records targets killed, accuracy, damage, moving-target range, and measured TTK. Dummies sit at 10, 25, 50, and 100 meters and can wear zero to three plates. You can swap loadouts in place, toggle a moving target, or use the recoil plate to inspect spread.

That is the correct workflow for a build: identify the intended range, optimize, inspect Advanced Stats, test recoil and TTK, then compare against the live recommendations on the MW4 meta page. Use MW4 Level Builds if the recommended parts are still locked.

All Tactical equipment

  • Level 4: Flash Grenade blinds and deafens; Smoke blocks vision and automated targeting, though gunfire and explosions disturb its cover.
  • 10: Snapshot briefly reveals nearby enemies to the team.
  • 15: Concussion slows reactions and blurs vision.
  • 23: Heartbeat Sensor displays nearby enemies using a limited battery.
  • 29: Shock Stick electrocutes enemies, destroys equipment, and disrupts vehicles.
  • 42: Decoy simulates shots, movement, and radar signatures.
  • 47: Stim immediately begins regeneration, refreshes Tactical Sprint, and mitigates flash/stun effects.
  • 53: Screamer Mine suppresses and marks enemies in its proximity.

All Lethal equipment

  • Level 4: cookable Frag and timed Sticky Grenade.
  • 7: Drill Charge penetrates a surface before releasing its explosive.
  • 13: Proximity Mine launches before detonating and can attach to a passing vehicle.
  • 17: Zip Gun is a fast, single-use 3D-printed close-range pistol.
  • 22: Trip Wire creates a thrown explosive line; multiple wires link into a network.
  • 26: Thermite sticks and punishes vehicles or armor.
  • 28: Molotov bursts on impact and leaves burning ground.
  • 37: Claymore provides directional proximity defense.
  • 43: C4 sticks to surfaces and detonates remotely.
  • 49: Throwing Knife is retrievable and lethal on impact.

All 12 Field Upgrades

  • Portable Radar (4, medium): periodic nearby enemy pings.
  • DDOS (4, fast): jams local electronics and sensors.
  • Munitions Box (6, medium): ammunition and equipment for the team.
  • SAM Airburst Turret (8, slow): portable anti-air missile defense.
  • Riot Shield (11, medium): a destructible planted shield, not a carried Primary.
  • Trophy System (14, fast): destroys up to three incoming projectiles; large threats consume more shots.
  • Seeker Drone (19, slow): seeks and snapshots nearby enemies.
  • Inflatable Decoy (25): creates a deceptive soldier-shaped target.
  • Smoke Wall (29): deploys broad visual concealment.
  • Recon Drone (33, slow): remotely controlled manual or automatic marking.
  • Razor Wire Trap (41, medium): ensnares a nearby enemy in barbed mesh.
  • Tactical Insertion (45, medium): marks the next spawn position.

All 17 Killstreaks

Each loadout stores its own streak choices. Kills are the main currency, but objective contribution also advances the meter.

  • Four: UAV (Level 4), Bomb Glider (6), Care Package (9), Impact Warhead (12).
  • Six: Artillery Beacon (4), Crossfire dual airstrikes (20), Combat Drone (26), Counter UAV (31).
  • Eight: Wheelson (16), Missile Salvo (24), Railgun Sentry (38).
  • Ten: Attack Helicopter (4), Deathstalker remote helicopter (35), Advanced UAV (40), Argonaut heavy armor (45).
  • Twelve: Gunship (51), Air Lockdown bombing runs with anti-air coverage (55).

Pick 3 perks and unlock levels

Perk 1: Quick Fix (4) starts regeneration from kills and objective work; Overkill (4) permits two Primaries; High Alert (8) warns when seen outside your view; Ghost (24) blocks callouts, UAVs, Portable Radar, and Heartbeat Sensors; Resupply (31) recharges and expands equipment while accelerating Field Upgrades; Kill Chain (48) lets streak kills award half streak credit.

Perk 2: Hardline (4) cuts streak cost by one; Blood Rush (4) enables Tactical Sprint and replenishes stamina on kills; Bomb Squad (16) reduces non-streak explosive damage, resets thrown-grenade fuses, and blocks Knockdown; Fast Hands (20) speeds reloads, swaps, and equipment; Ninja (30) sharply reduces footstep range; Birdseye (40) zooms out the minimap and adds enemy direction to radar pings.

Perk 3: Lethal Reach (4) extends throws with a visible arc and substitutes the dedicated melee weapon for gun-butting; Combat Grid (4) outlines enemy equipment, upgrades, streaks, and vehicles through walls while highlighting teammates; Battle Hardened (12) reduces Tactical effects; Scavenger (28) recovers ammunition except launcher rounds; Tracker (32) reveals footsteps and death markers while hiding kill markers; Cold-Blooded (36) defeats AI targeting, thermal, Recon Drones, Spotter Scopes, Snapshots, and High Alert.

Three sensible first classes

  1. Flexible Level 4: Han 86 or ISO Nightshade, Quick Fix, Hardline, Combat Grid, Portable Radar, and a UAV. It teaches gunfights and rewards objective participation immediately.
  2. Objective anchor: a rifle or LMG, Quick Fix, Bomb Squad, Battle Hardened, Trophy System, and information streaks. It is built to survive the hill rather than chase clips.
  3. Late-level flanker: SMG, Ghost, Ninja, Cold-Blooded, Stim, and Tactical Insertion. It sacrifices sustain for concealment and route pressure.
